Manchester’s Alo̱r are the latest band to sign up for our CD duplication service. This week we’ve manufactured the ‘Alo̱r’ EP, and very good it is too. This six track release has been playing on a loop throughout the manufacturing process and continually in our heads ever since. If you don’t know of Alo̱r at present, you will do soon enough. Below is a brief bio:
Alo̱r are creating alternative indie-folk in Manchester. A unique force being compared to the likes of Fleet Foxes, The War On Drugs, Lucy Rose and Elbow, the band are a breath of fresh air in the Manchester music scene, and are quickly becoming recognised as a musical force to be reckoned with.
Following the successful release of their debut single “Oath Breaker”, their latest single “Older” explores the topic of mental health. Written from the perspective of a son talking to his father, it encourages those who are struggling with their mental health to reach out to loved ones and not be afraid to communicate how they are feeling. As someone who battles with severe OCD, songwriter Ollie West felt it was important to convey this message, especially for his dad who was struggling with the loss of his own father around the time this song was written.
